Missed Period While On The Pill

I started taking bc a few years ago in order to regulate my abnormal period which back then was usually a couple of weeks long and very painful. I switched to minastrin 24 fe in July after getting a new obgyn. Everything was fine for a while, I have not missed any pills and I have taken them about the same time everyday. Last month I went on a cruise for a week and during that cruise I took the last pill in my pack and have yet to get a refill but have not been intimate since finishing. Normally my period starts right after I finish a pack but I didn't have one at all. The week before the cruise my boyfriend and I were intimate and we used the pullout method. My last normal period was near my birthday in November. Now it is the start of the new year and I am cramping like I am on my period but it is earlier than normal and I have a lot of discharge which is something new since I've been on this bc. I have also found my appetite switching quite a bit, sometimes I feel like I'm starving and other times I just don't feel like eating no matter how little I've had. My boyfriend and I are both panicking, is it possible I'm pregnant?

If you didn't miss any pills and haven't engaged in intercourse since stopping, then pregnancy isn't very likely. The only way to be sure is to do a test, though.

However, some women don't always have periods, while taking oral contraceptives and it's usually nothing to worry about, unless your doctor feels otherwise.

As to your current symptoms, they may be caused by having stopped it and causing your hormones to be off balance.

Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, weight gain and irritability.
