Miralax, Pooping

i took a dose of miralax saturday, then another on sunday with no results along with stool softeners that my doctor gave me for post operation. someone told me about a faster acting laxative that i took sunday night and i finally had relief. the problem is it is now wednesday night and i have been going to the bathroom every 2 hours and have loose stools. when will it stop. after every meal also i have to go immediatly.

At this point, it is just going to take time for it to process out of your body, so things return to normal. It is likely that you should have given the Miralax a longer amount of time to work, some laxatives can take 48 to 72 hours, and if they haven't worked by then, you are told to consult a doctor.

The Miralax FAQ on their website even lists that it can take 1 to 3 days for it to produce a bowel movement.

I understand that it is frustrating, when you're constipated, but sometimes you do need to have some patience to give the remedy time to work.

Right now, all you can really do is wait it out, and make sure you are drinking enough fluids to avoid dehydration.

Ricky, get to a drug store. Like Walgreens, CVS, Walmart or etc. and buy some 'Imodium A-D' active ingredient aka as the generic 'Loperamide HCI'

Sounds like you've taken way to much diarrheals and your system is out of balance. Follow the directions on the Loperamide HCI box. If you're not better within 24 hrs seek medical attention immediately because it could be something serious with your kidneys! Continuous diarrhea will dehydrate you fast and can become very serious very fast depending on your age and or having underlying medical conditions!

yes, it is pretty much back to normal going about 2 times a day. i just had to wait it out.
