Mini Thin

I wanted to know if I can take mini thins while taking Synthroid. I have gained alot of weight since losing my throid and a nurse told me I could take the white ones with the cross on them. I just was wondering if it is something I should try being that she said it was safe to use and I can lose the weight with these.

Mini Thins actually contain Ephedrine, which can be a very dangerous stimulant, if used improperly, mixed with some other medications or if taken with certain medical conditions.

Thus, it's really not a good idea for her to be making a blanket statement that you can take it and it will help you lose weight.

Whether or not you can safely take it is something that should be double checked with your doctor.

And since you've lost your thyroid, there is no guarantee that anything is going to help you lose weight. Weight gain is a very common issue for people with thyroid disorders and most never lose it, even if the medication helps them to get stabilized.
