Metoprolol Succ Er 50mg (Page 2)

This is a white large oval tablet with a slpit on one side down the middle and 369 on the other side. The Mfr. is ETHEX CORP. I'm taking Toprol XL 50 mgs. for my heart. I have Bicuspid Aortic Valve Disease and arrythmias. I got my prescription filled today. I have never been given this type of tablet before and I'm afraid to take it. My pharmacist is closed now and I take this medicine every night. Please tell me what you may think that it is. Do you think that it's a generic for Toprol? I think that once I got a generic for it and it didn't look like this. Please email me back and let me know. Thank You so much.

Metoprolol ER Succinate 50 MG tab...prescribed 1 PM and 1/2 in AM for A/F. I also take .05 Synthyroid AM and Lisinopril 10 MG PM. Well, after reading all about the side affects of Met., I thought it was interesting that when I started on it 4 years ago, the very symptoms that it was helping are now negative side affects! So many of them! Three weeks ago I started cutting them in half and taking 1/2AM and 1/2 PM. I actually feel much better, but I have not yet told dr. In a month at next appointment, if I continue to feel better, ( and he agrees to lower dosage) will I be able to cut/quarter these as I have quite a supply?
