Methamphetamines Vs. Bath Salts

I'm on community corrections with just 2 months left till I'm released. Went in last week for my weekly UA and meeting with the PO. I tested positive for Methamphetamine he said and wanted me to confess to a relaspe. I am a addict and I disagree with the "quite on command" way the legal system does a offender who's a real addict. Its a set-up to fail and they know this. So you go under the radar with booze or just listen to your brain which is not your friend and do your maneuvers till your caught and back in a cage. So here's the deal, I have a script for ritlin from the doc. I take regularly. The PO know of it, it usually isn't a issue cuz it don't show up on a standard drug test plus its prescribed and I haven't done any Methamphetamine!! But a had done bath salts 3 days prior intraveneously and several times. Didn't even worry bout it because I understood this synthetic wouldnt messup my UA. I s*** when he said I was dirty for Methamphetamine. I looked him in the face and said, BULLS*** I haven't done any. So he sent it to the lab to get a "level" on it he said. If the just do the norm on my sample for Methamphetamine. Is there any chance of them finding the salts ? Also to test for bath salts is it a special test and does it have to be requested by the agency? Also , F.Y.I.after the positive test I went straight to Walmart and bought my own test. Went home and took it and it was clean across the board. The Methamphetamine test on it took a bit to turn negative and it was faint but still tested negative. He never has me wash my hands till after we test and on this test he left my sample for at lest a min. And a half while he took me with him to his office to get the container to pour it in to send it to the lab it's set in the public bathroom all by itself and no one in there. Anyway the stress and disappointment and regrets and feeling of failure. Should be more than enough punishment for an offender Asia true addict trying to adhere to their crazy rules which I mite add are quite easy for an offender who isn't an addict to adhere to while on community corrections or parole or probation. Sure hope you have some information that can help me with my worrys on this subject. Thanks so much and by the way I did have 15 yrs of clean and sober before my brain and life fooled me into making a decision that I should feel high again. Don't even want to quit again, I don't trust it to be lasting and life still kicks ya high or not. Thanks much and be safe

The test for bath salts is a special panel on a lab screening. Since there are like hundreds of amphetamine like drugs, mostly of the cathinone or beta keto cathinone drug family, which are structurally and pharmacology similar to amphetamines, has same basic ring structure of amphetamines, it will throw a false positive, my experience has been never for more than 48 hours iv. However in order to test for bath salts since there are so many in use it takes a while and is a very specialised test so it will be very precise and Ritalin prescription will be easily differentiated, it is also very expensive so expect a bill. However if you acidify your urine, lowering the PH by drinking acidic beverages like lemonade and cranberry juice it will speed up excretion and metabolism of all amphetamines including bath salts. just make sure since you have legals you take a b vitamins to make your piss yellow and load up on red meats to boost specific gravity and creatinine levels because that is a red flag and you will either get an automatic dirty or have to retest
