Unfortunately, in the U.S. under current FDA law, a regular doctor cannot prescribe it for you, if you've been taking it from an addiction clinic. It is only allowed to be prescribed by someone specially trained in its use and must be done in a clinical setting.
The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.
