Methadone Replacement Drug

I've been on 150mg methadone for the last 10 yrs or so. NOW bc of new federal REGS, they have me on 30 mg methadone per day plus two 10mg oxymoron for breakthrough pain. Can someone suggest a medicine that might work around the clock and meet federal mme limits? Thank you so much... In pain in Alabama.... HELP IS APPRECIATED!

One possible option you could discuss with your doctor is the Fentanyl patch, they are time released and usually last from 48 to 71 hours, it is an opiate that is over 80 times stronger than Morphine.

The FDA classifies it as narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Does anyone else have any ideas or suggestions?

Yes sadly if in the medical judgement of a physician he believes further prescribing is not medically justified he can cease seeing a patient.Most think it's illegal, IT IS NOT. Inhumane,immoral, and repulsive YES.The fed. Guildlines inacted in 2016 has pressured Doctors into a unenviable position to face medical consequences if their prescribing history differs from what the cdc,dea and other regulatory agencies deem EXCESSIVE . 2017 promises more of the same as some north east states look to eliminate the use of opiates except in very limited and specified conditions.
