Methadone Patch

my grandaughter has been on methadone drink for five years now and her teeth are rotting away terribly fast. Is there another way she can take this drug?

There are other forms available, such as tablets, but that won't likely help the problem. Opiates are all well known for causing dental decay, with long-term use, because they can cause mineral loss in the body.

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Has she consulted a dentist? A cleaning and sealant may help slow down the decay.
