Methadone Pain Docters

I really need to know of some docters that prescribe methadone for pain in or around the baton rouge, la area please help!!!! {edited for privacy}

Hello, Brian! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain.

However, there is no listing of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe that I can refer to for you. Due to the regulations that were put in place last year, if you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a pain management specialist.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

However, due to its highly addictive nature, most are going to be very reluctant to prescribe Methadone.

Do you currently have a PCP that might be able to refer you to someone? If so, that might be the quickest and easiest way to find the help you need.

Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?
