I had 12 teeth pulled (half my face-became a total of 22 teeth) I wound up with dry socket. It was real bad one Thursday night my vicodin wasn't working and I had an old morphine pill which I took (no intention of feeling high). I had a call back for my 3 take home bottles on that Sunday and it came up as a dirty U/A. Been at the clinic for 2 1/2 years (but clean for 4 years) never had a dirty U/A. I was told that I would lose them for 60 days and then get them back one every 30 days after that.
Since I had been at the clinic for a while and that was as I thought it to be. During a meeting with the Director and my therapist they change it up and told me that I would only get one bottle every 60 days. Claiming it was a DEA thing. I am curious if any one has been in this situation and what you were told?
I posted this on another methadone group and I got 14 replies saying that wasn't true that it was up to your councilor or the doctor. I even went as far as reading 84 pages of the Federal Guidelines and it seems they are correct. Whats the truth? It seems like I was lied to. Do u know if its a state regulation or where I can find the state laws?
It is a very common misunderstanding that there are doctors that treat with any specific medication, except in the case of those that have been trained in addiction treatment.
Thus, there is no way to find a doctor for pain that treats with any specific medication. What you need to look for is a pain management specialist, but you can't call asking about any certain drug. If you do that, they will see it as being drug seeking behavior and they won't even let you get in the door.
You need to set up an appointment, make sure they receive a full copy of your most recent medical records, then keep the appointment and discuss your treatment options with them.
Does anyone know of a good pain management specialist in that area?
