Methadone Doctors For Pain

Hi I am trying to find a doctor in the Rochester, ny even buffalo area that will prescribe methadone for my chronic knee pain and all I am finding is addiction treatment facilities!!! Can u help?

Well, if you're searching under Methadone/Methadone treatment, that's all you're going to find. There is no listing of doctors that treat pain with any given medication.

For pain, Methadone can be prescribed by any physician that has their license and can prescribe medications, however, if they advertised it, imagine the type of people they'd have beating down their office door. :-)

The biggest issue that I think you're going to run into is many doctors not wanting to prescribe it, though they may be perfectly willing to prescribe other opiates. Many are reluctant, since it is very habit forming and there are so many other safer and more effective options available.

Verwon: well I have been on Vicodin and tramadol before and recently when on vacation and left the majority of my meds home a friends dad gave me some of his methadone and I couldn't believe how well it worked and since I have been home the only doctors that want to deal with methadone are if your cd treatment
