Oh no! I feel sorry for you! Where I live so much crap on tv, guess maybe improving a bit atm. I get what's going with this crap virus, also anyone would think we are having an election, always wanted to go NY, but didn't make it. Pictures I see of NY look a lot more sterile these days. Always had visions of Greenwich, Timesquare ECT. Plus would have liked to check the music out back in decent music days. Well it's 6am nearly Monday morning, nearly time for my trip to shop! Some things never seem to change, lol. Stay safe.
Re: Lou (# 12)
Sure are strange days mate. You should see what's happening here in New York City. It's funny Lou, I was streaming Hulu and got addicted to Aussie shows??
Re: Pete (# 11)
So true Pete, one thing I'm glad about is iwas around in 60 s 70s ,I'd hate to be trying to do now ,what was normal back then, things sure have changed ,we were so lucky real music ,in fact I can't think of one thing that's better everything seems weak as,I was starting to think it was just me !! or my imagination, what part of world are you from ?I'm in Aust ,good having rave don't meet anybody these days who understand or relate.take care ok mate were living in strange days .
Re: Optimistic (# 7)
Lou (# 8) --Dont get me started on music. 60$and 70$ were the best
I'm 70 in Feb. It was stronger Lou. They were pink tabs made by Lilly, not the tabs made today. You needed special permission to go up past100 MGS and the counselors were ex addicts, not laid off kingergarten teachers.
Re: Pete (# 9)
In the 70s if you decided you needed help and attempted to get on mmt, you had to prove to drs, shrinks, etc. that you were genuine and you had a habit people were actually concerned on how you were going. These days it seems a lot of losers get on a program without even showing that you may be unwell. I've heard of people here in Australia being on extremely high doses, even though they probably have never had a habit! But they can sell and keep themselves on crap street meds.
I'm on mmt over thirty years and get treated like a newbie. They don't give a flying f*** about rehabilitation. Pay your money, cop your drug just like on the street and then split! I'm not saying clinics are like street dealer's cause you can go short on the street but these jackals that run private programs are in it for the money like a street pimp. There's nothing lower than the scum that own or work ion private clinics. Thank God I'm in NY in a state run clinic where I get weeklies but have been getting monthlies since March and will continue indefinitely because of underlying health conditions. Bless My Medicaid run state programs. Any one who runs or owns a private clinic is a scumbag vulture!
Re: Optimistic (# 7)
Why not? It has to be an improvement to these gutter drugs that totally screw people's brains up. Putrid crap cooked in some garage with no hygiene. Not only is music crap these days, 70s were great.
Maybe the universe is pushing you to finally get off it? You can’t take it forever can you?
Re: Pete (# 3)
Thanks for reply Pete ,think it was early 70s for me ,I spent bit of time in s e.asia when I got back it was the only answer for me,nothing else touched the sides ,this time it's been about 5 yrs ,I had accident neck nerve damage ect,at least it helped with pain where nothing else would ,I'm closing in on 70 yrs now so can't see any pain cures happening ,as for anything else forget it!! But I remember back in 70s was obviously stronger or maybe it's just me ,in fact nothing seems same to me ,prescribed relaxants .but don't seem to work,,unfortunately there's just about no old faces around sadly, take care ok mate, (survivor)
Re: Lou (# 4)
Definitely! We used to get orange wafers made by the Lilly Co. Not today's orange. People would stop at 80mgs because that's all you needed! Then they went to white wafers. Then liquid called methadone which we take now. With each change it's gotten progressively weaker, make no mistake.
Re: Pete (# 3)
Hi Pete,I can relate to what you have been thru,I'm in Australia I have one question have you noticed any change in potency with juice? I'm not sure if it's just me but seemed stronger in 70s ,thanks take care.
Re: VerFree (# 2)
The risk of being habit forming? Do they think we're stupid. I'm 70. Yes, 70 and on it 32 years this time. It's saved my life and brought my family back together but make no mistake, you're still a junkie and the bottom line is profit. Over the years, each time I got a pick up I saved it and they can stop serving me any time they want and I can do a four month detox on my own. I prefer not to but I will never allow them to take my manhood away. Any time they want they can dismiss me and f*** them all because I'm ready!!! Don't confide, don't tell any personal business because it will be used to hurt, not help you. If any of you poor folks have to go to group, the same applies. TNT. Tell No Truths. Believe me. I have 50 years experience.
I am very sorry about what you've had to deal with, I know it is frustrating, and shouldn't be allowed, since missing a dose could put you in danger of severe withdrawals.
However, under current U.S. law, as long as you are stable at the time they see you, they are not required to treat you, or prescribe/dispense any medications to you, at all. A clinic, or doctor, can choose to stop seeing you, at any time, without notice. In turn, you are allowed to refuse treatments, or stop seeing any given particular medical professional, unless court ordered to do so.
The FDA warns that Methadone carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.
Have you checked into any assistance options in your area? Some places help people pay for their Methadone treatment, but not all.
I would pay like clock work but one day i owed 7 dollars and the medicating nurse was going to refuse medicating me. But another nurse told her to go ahead and dose me.
In the early days I thought methadone centers where there to help improve your life ? But when the 1980s came and Reagan cut federal money to MHMR's doctor's opened up their on private methadone clinics. That's when it became cut and dry money for methadone and if you don't like it, go back to your street drug life if you don't like what they got to offer was the underlying messenger.
