Methadone Asc 116 & New Blood Pressure Problems
UpdatedOk I've been on Methadone since 2005 & I've never had blood pressure problems until now ... I was just curious if anyone else has experienced higher than normal BP since these new ASC 116 hit the market ... & im not saying the pills caused it I'm just trying to eliminate any possibilities & pin point what is causing my new blood pressure problems ...

That is very odd, Methadone itself usually causes low blood pressure, not high.
What have your numbers been at?
The FDA classifies Methadone as an opiate, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Are you on any other medications? Has anything in your lifestyle changed recently? How old are you?
Thnx for replying ...I am 42 yrs old ... It's usually 110/74 like clockwork but it's been running like 155/110 ... & I did have a stressful weekend ... But I've read a few more post & I had brain decompression in 2006 & was told in Dec 2015 that my spinal canal was closing back up so now I'm leaning towards my spinal stenosis may be causing it ... I just didn't realize my spine problems could effect my blood pressure ... like I said earlier I've never had BP problems so I was trying to think of anything new or different that may be causing my problems ... Again TY for replying ... Any insight on BP & spine compression would be appreciated now
Kelly,
Hi there it's been a while since your post but if your bp issues haven't been resolved consider the following.Verwon is correct that methadone can produce incidence in respitory Depression, hypotension and the like, however if new reports are to be believed this particular generic isn't being distributated throughout your system properly causing in effect percipated withdrawal syndrome with increased respiration pulse and hypertension consistent with opiate/opiod withdrawal symptoms .I AM NOT A PHYSCIAN but it's just a thought you may want to investigate further. Hoping things have resolved on its own.Take good care.
I have taken methadone for some time now. And just like the other individual, have noticed the blood pressure going up. And it could very well be just how someone described it... if the generic isn't working the same, one could be experiencing withdrawal symptoms. Which is exactly what I've been feeling, so that's why I decided to start doing some research. After taking this generic methadone ascen for a few months now, I know it doesn't work the same! I have had to take Tylenol and ibuprofen because of hightened pain. My wounds haven't changed, so I know it has to be the med. The potency or the way it's made is different. And feel it's not performing like it should be, like other methadone from other manufacturers. How would one go about contacting someone with concerns of this med. It should be checked into.
Re: Yodinnyo (# 4)

And the ascend does not taje away ANY PAIN! seriously upset about this. Did you find a pharmacy to get a brand name? I'm with Walgreens. I need my methadone back that works.
