Methadone After Subutex

My name is AJ. I've been taking 8mg subutex ( not suboxone) for two weeks. I start the methadone clinic in 5 days. How long should I be off subutex to start methadone? And if I still have subs in my system will I go into precipitated withdraws?

This social worker from a pain management clinic goes on to state that patients should wait 12 to 24 hours after Subutex before having Methadone in order to avoid precipitated withdrawals; due to the presence of Buprenorphine, which knocks opiates/opioids of the receptors.

Hi, I've been on Subutex (not Suboxone) for several years now, and my last dose was over 12 hours ago. Is it safe for me to take 20 mg of Methadone w/o going into withdrawal? I've seen so many conflicting answers when looking it up. I've taken opiates in the past while on the Subutex, like hydrocodone after surgery, along with the Subutex with no problems at all. I don't know if taking Methadone 12 hours after the Subutex would cause withdrawal, though. If anyone has any experience with this, I'd greatly appreciate it!!

I wait 24 hours from say, 14 ml' s of subutex to 80ml's of methadone, and visa versa, no problems. Methadone after subutex, I have never had a problem. Everyone is different though my friend, but I'm sure you will be ok.
