Please Help.
I have a very high tolerance on Oxycodone 30mg, I'm taking up to 28 a day (7 of them 4 times a day). I really want to get off of them or at least lower my tolerance WAY down. I tried taking suboxone but it did not really work for me, not sure if I did anything wrong. I used to go to the methadone clinic two years ago, which did help me with my addiction. However, the lack of transportation back and forth to the clinic, it is impossible. One of my friends is suggesting taking "methadone 54142".
How long should I wait before I start taking the methadone, and how many should I start taking in a day?

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation, dry mouth, and headache.

It is used to treat severe pain, as well as drug addiction.

However, it has been mostly replaced with the medications Suboxone, and Subutex, which are more recent discoveries that have been found to be easier to taper off of, though they do risk causing the same side effects. Suboxone contains Buprenorphine with Naloxone, and Subutex contains only Buprenorphine, so it is mostly only prescribed for pregnant women, or those that have a proven allergy to Naloxone.
