Hello, Jan! How are you?
It sounds like you were letting it sit in your mouth on your tongue for a moment, before taking a drink to swallow it, which is not the proper way to take pills.
You should actually place them as far back as possible, to the very end of your tongue, just short of choking on it and drink the water immediately.
This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
