Metformin Nausea

I have been on Metformin 500mg twice daily for 3weeks now. I am so nauseated that I don't know how much longer I can do this. Has anyone ever changed from Metformin to another drug for Type 2? If so, what is the name of the drug that took its place? Thank you

Have you tried taking it right before a meal? That may help to minimize the nausea. Your doctor may also okay it for you to take it while eating. Other side effects may possibly include dizziness, headache, hypoglycemia and flatulence.

There are other options available, but only your doctor can tell you which one would be safest for you to take.
