Metformin 500mg And Apo-metformin 500mg
UpdatedWhat is the difference between the above two medications? is the Apo-metformin a s long-acting drug? Can my doctor shift me from Metformin 500mg to Apo-Metformin without any medical justification? I was doing well with the former type and until today my A1C is 5.6.
Thanks

Hello, Sharif! How are you?
They are the same, the one with the Apo prefix just denotes which company has manufactured it, which in this case is Apotex.
The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain and flatulence.
What have your period A1C numbers been?
