why is this drug no longer made? Only effective one for chronic migraines. Wise up drug companies this is a very effective Rx for migraine Ha's. Why should nurses suffer, doctors, too and millions of others. UNFAIR JUST SO THE FAT CAT DRUG CO'S CAN GET RICHER AND RICHER AND RICHER?

Hello Susan,

Reviewing the companies decision to discontinue this medication I found really no answer so likely it just wasn't generating enough money to be a viable option for them to continue manufacturing it. I was able to determine that the two pieces of this drug are still available through prescription, 50 mg of demerol and 20 mg of promethazine are the two ingredients in this medication and are both still available on the market. Taking these two together would be the equivalent of one mepergan.

This was a great drug for use on kidney stones. The stuff they give u today is just average oxycodone or hydrocodone. ITS EXTREMELY WEEK FOR KIDNEY STONES. PATHETIC!!!! GROW UP DRUG COMPANIES, THE WORLD NEEDS SERIOUS COMFORT FROM PAIN, THE GOVERNMENT CLD MAKE MORE MONEY W THIS DRUG, U KNOW THEM ITS ALL ABOUT MONEY WHEN IT COMES TO DRUGS. THEY HAVE MESSED UP SO MANY PEOPLE'S LIVES BUT YET IM NOT A DOCTOR, BUT WHEN IT COMES TO DRUGS, I KNOW MORE THAN ANY, I MEAN ANY NARCOTIC DRUG DOCTOR THEY HAVE.

I was in the healthcare field for almost 10 years. The number one complaint from patients was their pain was not controlled. I had to leave due to a chronic pain issue. I agree with the patients, I have been in pain for years. No one will prescribe anything to control this pain. The last time my pain got unbearable, I went to the doctor and was treated like a drug addict. I was all but asked if I was drug seeking. I walked out of the office when it became clear that I was not going to get any help. I cannot understand why it is okay to allow a patient to be in so much pain they cannot move, yet somehow that doesn't fall under "first, do no harm".
