Medroxyprogesterone is a hormone, most common in females and it helps regulate their menstrual cycle and egg fertilization.

If you are suffering from continuous bleeding, then your doctor may fear that you do not have enough of this hormone present and they are hoping this problem will be rectified by supplement your natural supply of it.

In taking Medroxypr AC 10 MG I find myself angry all the time and losing handfulls of hair as well as unable to lose weight even though I'm working out and eating the recommended diet for weight loss. IS THERE AN ALTERNATIVE perscription that would not have these side effects. Is there a natural alternative to force my body to have a monthly menstral peroid?

That is a very good question. Ask your doctor if there is an alternative medication. I started taking this drug in the summer of last year and I work out 6 days a week now to control the weight gain but it's so important that we have a menstural cycle but it's hard to say what will work for you until you have a discussion with your doctor.

I am currently on this medication as well. I work out 6 days a week and eat healthy. I have gained 7 pounds. Not only have I gained the weight, but the medication has left me with no desire to work out or eat healhty. I know my cycle is very important, but I am so ready to be done with this medication so I can get my body back.

Hi, my doc prescribed this medicine for prolonged bleeding. Prescription says twice a day for 7 days. My bleeding stopped after the first medicine. Now should I continue eating all the medicines as prescribed?

I am 44 yrs old and in perimemopause. My dr gave me 10mg of medroxyporgestrone and told me to take it on day 1 - 10 of cycle. Everythng I know and everything I read says to take it day 14-24. Why am I taking the first day of my period?
