I am 31 yrs old. Experiencing infertility for 4 yrs. h/o dysmenorrhea before. After diagnosed i had endometriosis grade 3 and 30/10/15 laproscopy. The next day i took an inj. of luprodox IM according to doctors orders and 15 inj. of placentrax within one month, alternating days. I also took dienogest for 3 months after surgery. The following month 17/11/15 i got my period and after that amenorrhoea for 4 months. I asked my doctor about it and she advised me regestrone 5 mg TID for 5 days, but before taking this tablet i got my period normaly, so she told me there's no need to take this tab now... I want to know for what reason she advised me to take this tab? h/o endometriosis? Also, can I conceive or not..? Any special advice?

Hello, Minu! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems you've experienced.

Regrestrone is a hormone that helps balance the menstrual cycle, so many doctors will prescribe it, in such cases, to try to boost your natural hormonal balance and get a woman's periods going, again. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and spotting.

You do need to be ovulating, in order to conceive. Have you had any evaluations done to see if you are ovulating some months?
