Medication Intolerance
UpdatedI have been on every statin invented, including fibrates etc!. All have caused severe muscle pain, nausea, loss of energy, actually, i could go on forever regarding side effects. Doctors opinion is usually that you are overreacting/imagining the severity of side effects, most doctors won't even admit that statins are the culprits ! I have read many reports into the benefits/dangers of taking statins and I'm beginning to veer towards the opinion that the benefits don't outweigh the risks! By the way, i cannot tolerate medications for high blood pressure either.I would like to say that I am a very active person and, i have also lost weight through exercise and diet. Still the cholesterol stays high! (8.2). I believe that personalised medication is not too far into the future, would this solve the problem of people having to put up with the distressing side effects of these medications? (as long as you are in the right income bracket!)
