Md Closed Need New Doc In East Tn Tri-cities Area

The doctor at the clinic was great. Very strict very caring. Unfortunately the owner of the clinic was a f***up!!!! Now after being on 45mgs of oxy 6 times a day i find myself being very dope sick and very screwed and what pisses me off the most the dea haa my medical records know that i was also on xanax 4 times a day and with drawing from those have the potental to cause death. I realize addiction is rampid in this country but i dont think the federal goverment should be allowed to kill me off. I wasnt doing anything illegal

Hello, Jaime! How are you doing? I am very sorry about the problem that you're having.

Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly? Getting a referral from them to a new doctor will likely be the easiest way to get the help you need.

As to the DEA, they enforce the laws, but they don't actually know drug side effects or what issues may result from withdrawals.

Does anyone else have any helpful suggestions?

Your drs office has your medical records. You need to get a copy of them and find a new dr. But, don't expect to be prescribed the same meds.

I so feel what you are going through. I have been going through withdraws for almost a week. Calling my new doctor 3 times with no response and will be out of my new meds he switched me to 4 days early. I will have to go into a rehab just to live if I can't get in soon. We are real people with real pain and being treated as common street drug users. In 10 years I have never taken anything I was not given and rarely run out of my meds. My doctor just did surgery to remove a failed Spinal Cord Stimulor and Morhpine Pump and I now am having my meds cut back so far with my pain still there and causes me terrible withdraws. I have gone from taking Fentanyl and Oxy together down to just hydro and have not lost the pain. What is going on? We need the good doctors and they are closing up offices in my area so fast I can't even get into a pain management, but just being seen my my surgeon who is trying to just cut me back now. Withdraws make you feel like you are dying and they make you feel crazy when you know you are just in pain and withdraws. Lord help us all. I pray for all of us who have to deal with this horrible way of life.

I am worried sick about going to my on the 8th, I'm in Knoxville and I have been on 240 mg oxycontin and 120mg of oxycodone for nearly 8 years. Last month I was told because this is an election year in TN and everyone is out to get the druggies on oxy 's that there are now new guidelines, it wasn't clear if they are in affect yet,my Dr is being told to drop me down to 2 60mg and 2 15 mg. Going from 360mg total to 90mgs! Last month I went to the Doc got my regular scripts 90 80mgs and 45 30mgs( I'm cutting back). I can only get my meds within 24 hrs of when I run out so we have pharmacy put script in hold and it allows the pharmacist to order that many oxy's. It was safely under lock and key when she decided to elope! Nobody has this key, only pharmacist because these are oxy's. I have to go back and get another RX, thank god my Dr believes in me. But all they have are some 40's enough for 14 days. I don't have any choice but to take them. Now the pharmacy is aware I need 16 more days. I come to get it , all they have is 60mg. And yes they ordered since the last time I saw them. I go back to Dr get another Rx for 60mg they only have 10 days ! We went to Jefferson City, Morristown, Tri- Cities. We worked our way to North Carolina, won't fill out of state. We head the other direction to Murphreesboro, not a chance! So I am stuck getting 10 days worth and my insurance only pays in 30 or 15 days. They are deadly expensive, without my ins they ran $1,780.23 last month. So I have to go with 15 days and try some how to make these stretch for 5 DAYS!

Here is my other problem in East TN, I have no primary Dr. As soon as they see the prescriptions I am on, I am basically shown the door. I did not have 4 surgeries in less than 2 years and have a titanium cage (8 hole) put in to keep my spine from the numerous problems I have so I could get some oxy's. I have current MRI's and CAT Scan 's showing the degeneration and nerve stimuli diagnostics that verify everything wrong with me. But TN wants to be the State to lead the way on the war on oxy's. H use and suicide rates will go up. It's already starting. I got a RX for 14 days for clonidine(sp?) that helps with withdrawals. If I find anybody around here willing to help. I promise I will post ASAP. Just try to maintain. It's so hard jumping through all these hoops when you are already physically in poor shape.
