Mandatory Drug Testing

I've been prescribed hydrocodone for 13 years for pain from severe injuries in a motorcycle accident. I've never asked for more before my prescription has reached its refill date. Sometimes I have gone twice as long before refilling. I use this medication when the pain is severe and goes on for 3 or 4 days. I've managed my pain and medication and of course I've run the gauntlet of tests and treatments. I was scheduled to have my right arm amputated at the shoulder months after the accident as it was paralyzed and had cellulitis. The orthopedic surgeon wouldn't do exploratory surgery even when I showed him where there was something in my forearm protruding through my elbow joint and reaching just below my skin behind my elbow. I'm explaining all this to answer questions ahead of time.

I had x-rays weekly mainly to monitor progress of my collarbone being manipulated back together as it had been shattered into 7 pieces which were in my back resting around my fractured in half shoulder blade. After an X-ray appointment the Surgeon said my amputation is scheduled for 10 days from now.He said no more questions or delays because that arm is going to kill you. When I got home I had my Dad get a straight razor and hemostats and alcohol out of my bathroom and to go in and get the object out of my arm. It was definitely no fun and an incredibly bloody kitchen and a half hour later my Dad stood there with a 3 inch piece of stick about as thick as a pencil. The next day I could move my thumb. My Dad continued to drain puss out of my arm daily as he had been doing for weeks by squeezing my arm above and below the wound and pushing about at first over a cup of puss twice stay to nothing and a scabbed over wound by amputation day.

The Surgeon saw that and that I could move my thumb a little. The pain from the accident to this time was so severe I had to knock myself out every 2 to 3 days with doxepin I had a large supply of from government doctors treating my PTSD which I was forced to retired from my service to 100% disabled medical pension. I found hydrocodone worked best for me after trying every pain med known to man and had tests some of which are nothing short of sick and wrong. I started physical therapy and 54 sessions later the damage I've stated so far plus the broken neck, 6 ribs, 8 fingers fractured skull, broken nose and 3 toes and leg all moved enough to make me self mobile but this was incredibly hard painful work for almost 2 years and I've continued to improve and at 60 years old I'm just fine with me. ENTER Doctors not making calls to pharmacies or returning calls or faxes and a constant war since 2001 to just have my pain meds when I severely need them for any quality of life. Now its been whining excuses about the DEA is harassing them (doctors) to we have to stop the fools overdosing on hydrocodone. They steal or buy illegally.

SO THIS MEANS I MUST SUFFER IN PAIN THESE PEOPLE HAVE NO CLUE HOW BAD IT IS AND HOW INHUMANE IT IS TO DENY PATIENTS THIER PAIN MEDS. I EVEN CONTACTED THE DEA AND ASKED IF MY DOCTOR WAS DOING SOMETHING WRONG AND WHY CANT I GET MY PAIN MEDS RELIABLY. I WAS TOLD THATS NOT WHAT THE DEA WANTS OR PURSUES. NOW my doctor says I have to see a pain management doctor and a neurologist and I. Have to come in and get a hand written original prescription. No phone ins. No refills and this is still not enough.. I must take and pass a drug test. Random drug test. Is there a law some ******* put on the books. now I'm treated like a criminal? Now I Have to see three times the doctors and drive more each month than I ever have just to get my refills. I'm snapping. I'm a good upstanding American Citizen. law abiding and God and country loving American. This can't be true. Who would be so unamerican to make laws treating people like this. They treat me like a criminal at the pharmacy with looks and comments like Just a minute let's see if we can fill this.and make sure its a valid script. Or at the doctors office "Are you here for your drug test?"

Can anybody tell me that this is really happening? Sorry but sit in acute pain this bad and you would not do this. The poor fools who die from illegally obtain. And overdosing are known as the weak ones of a species being naturally weeded out of the gene pool for the good. These people and situations have nothing to do with me I'm done putting up with paranoid laws made by scared paranoid people because of what its and could happens and might happens and people who don't think or obviously can't think or people not taking blame going around pointing their fingers at everybody..I'm sorry if I rambled on and vented or got off topic whole .. I just need an answer about this treatment plus I just had my whole prescription taken from me with only 4 pills gone out of the bottle because a deputy sheriff pulled me over for driving the same colored car they were looking for and searched my car and took the hydrocodone telling me its illegal to transport ??? Said I would get a citation in the mail or get a warrant for my arrest and be picked up. Now come on!! I'm Lost. Thank you for reading. I won't be writing again.

Drug screens and pain contract aren't Law, but they are recommended. Most pain mangment drs require them now. You can either agree to them and have help managing your pain or you can not agree to them and not have the help. It is something that each person has to decide for themselves. That is the way it is now and it is not going to change.

Hydrocodone combination meds were made a Schedule II, Oct 6, 2014. That means that they can't be refilled, you must have a new rx each time. They also can't be called in. Under Federal Law, if a drs office and a pharmacy both have approved soft ware, they can be faxed.

If the prescription was your prescription and in the bottle that the pharmacy put them in, there shouldn't be a problem with the rx.
