Updated

I was prescribed hydrocode 10/325 by my md. I was getting yellow pills.now I'm getting pills that i believe are from mallinckrodt the hotel says manufacturing company is MLKCM. My concern is that this MLKCM brand make me feel ill. It causes heart palpitations, increased bowel movements, and it does not help the pain as well add the other. Is this mallinckrodt and had anyone else had these symptoms with this brand? Thank you so much for any help you can give on info with this brand

Re: DAR (# 3) Expand Referenced Message

Yeah, those are mallinckrodt pharm - it should be written somewhere on ur Rx bottle (usually in small print) I used to take those myself in the 10-325 strength. Here in Michigan, a few months ago, they worked quite well, not anymore- for me - now they give me a headache & just don't help pain. So it seems that government/ FDA is allowing many generic company's to put God knows what in this medication, making us pain patients with real problems to try and figure out what few are left that actually works. This b.s. should be very illegal. I'm pretty desperate myself to get a couple honest opinions as to which norco 10-325 still works on my pain without terrible headache & queezy stomach! I have real pain issues, & the 1St odd ball generic I got from family fare pharmacy was a new one by Aurobindo pharma - found out it is made in INDIA - this one gave me migraine headaches upset stomach, so could not take it at all & anybody I know never heard of this crap. So I had to suffer greatly for over a month, cuz pharmacy refused to help in anyway. Just got newer white Watsons, (different pharmacy) before I could check this or other website - too late - stuck for another month, & new pharmacy said these should be much better & patients seem to like them just fine- wrong headaches again! Then I got some feedback & opinions that these white Watson 10-325 are bad news too, & supposedly u need the yellow Watsons. If u can find them, that is. Looking for a couple honest opinions myself, what are a couple good brands to look for, & see if pharmacy even has it? If I get a good opinion that works out for me, helps pain w/ no frikin headaches, I will be glad to share the information, again it's down right cruel what they're doing to people in real pain. Thanks for any good suggestion !

Re: ManuelG (# 15) Expand Referenced Message

There has to be an answer. I've thought about drinking also but it's not going to stop the pain. There has to be an answer to our questions. I'm in terrible pain right now and just took my last pill for the day. I can only get 2. My doctor is so afraid of the DEA that he will not write anymore and now that only Mallinckrodt makes them I don't get any relief. I had no idea why I was having palpatations at night and stomach problems. Thank you for your post. I hope you find an answer for all of us that are treated like addicts when we have legimate pain.

Re: Verwon (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

I changed pharmacy’s because they went from the Watson brand (which is no longer manufactured) to the Actavis brand which is totally awful for me. My prescription was filled with the Mallincrodt brand and, while they are not as good as the old Watson brand, they have helped me to get by. The reason that all of the opioid medications are awful is that ALL of the manufacturers tried to reengineer their pills by reducing the oxytocin content by 70%. The problem was solved to the extent that the pills were less addictive but in removing the oxytocin they also removed a good portion of the effectiveness of the pill. Plus, the manufacturers have been allowed to only put in 80% of the active ingredient so, for example, a 7.5 pill can legally only have 6 of the active ingredient. So we have been hot with a double whammy. 70% LESS of the oxytocin’s and a reduction by 20% of the total amount of the active ingredient.

Re: Beth (# 29) Expand Referenced Message
A Pharmacist will never care what one of their people think. In fact they are hoping that you will take your business elsewhere because that would mean they are not having to fill an opioid prescription which to them means one less addict that they have to be concerned with. To a Pharmacist anyone filling a prescription for an opioid medicine is an addict. In their mind there is no reason to ever be prescribed an opioid. If you go to a chain Pharmacy they are happy if you leave because they do not want to deal with the heat they get when they fill an opioid prescription.

Hello, Dar! How are you? Sorry about the problems that you're having.

What are the markings on the pills in question? I really can't provide you with any information on them, without knowing that. Sometimes the manufacturer listed by the pharmacy is actually just a licensed distributor and not the company that actually made the medication.

Hello again...I believe the markings on the medication are correct I just feel that either the medication was not compounded right or they use an inactive inexpedient that does not go week with me. Do you know if there is a way to get ALL of the ingredients? I've noticed a couple other posts with the same complaint of the intestinal issues? Very strange...any help or info would be greatly appriciated. Again the markings are M367 thanks for you help and interest

Re: Ty Dollar Sign (# 27) Expand Referenced Message

Yes! We are screwed because the political climate is against us right now. This started with obamler and because of the thief’s stealing their grandparents pills and overdosing and also the street drug addicts that are getting bathtub fentanyl and bathtub heroin. These addicts are criminals and no one can attack them so they attack the legal users who get legal prescriptions and use their medications responsibly. What most people do not realize is that all of the opioid medications have been remanufactured and 70% of the oxytocin in the pills have been removed in an attempt to reduce the addictive qualities of the pills. The main problem about that is that in an attempt to remove the addictive qualities of the pills they also removed the pain killing qualities. Along with the long time regulation that a pill only has to have 80% of the active ingredient we are getting hit by a double whammy. As far as filing a class action lawsuit, which law firm would even touch this case? Going after the opioid users is popular on both sides of the aisle (dems and Republicans) so no one wants to take this issue on. Besides a legal firm that specializes in the class action lawsuits only want the slam dunk lay downs and they would have to spend too many hours having to work to suit them. There is just no advocates for the chronic pain people that have used their medications responsibly. Many for more than one decade+. Also the expenses that would have to be paid by the law firm up front to gather the evidence and present their case is way more than a law firm wants to expend up front. Unless it is a slam dunk case they will not take it on.

Walgreen’s will always sell the cheapest pills possible. Quality in an opioid medication is the least of their worries.

Re: ManuelG (# 15) Expand Referenced Message

I work in a pharmacy and the pharmacist do not know anything. They are not hiding anything from us. I take this brand of Norco 7.5mg and I too believe that something is indeed wrong with them. They don’t work as well as they did years ago I believe the government is having the drug makers decrease the effective ingredient cuz of the whole so called opioid crisis. Believe me I always listen to everything the pharmacists say cuz I want to know why they don’t work as well and if they knew anything I would hear about it. So the pharmacists aren’t doing anything to the meds etc but I believe someone is

Re: Maria (# 38) Expand Referenced Message
I don’t believe that the Pharmacists are tampering with the product but the manufacturers sure are. Since the early eighties manufacturers have been allowed to put in as low as 80% of the active ingredient. However, recently, in an attempt to stem the addictive qualities of the opioid medications the manufacturers have reengineered the opioid pills to have 70% less oxytocin’s. (I have not seen it in writing myself but I believe the source). The problem is that when you take out that much of the oxytocin’s to control the addictive qualities of the pills you also remove the effectiveness of the pills as well.

I'm so freaking sick of our government and them f***ing with our lives like its damn nothing!! Free country my ass!! No other country that I know of has the problem of going to the pharmacy and getting a generic that doesn't even have to be made with a set percentage of the active ingredient of the medication and they can use whatever buffers they want. We are told to go home and shut up or get nothing!!! They wonder why there is such a drug problem I'm this country??? Get a f***in clue damn near everything is ass backwards in our government! And they have their dirty hands in the money jars all along behind every big epidemic or war on drugs or war period!!! I've been suffering with debilitating pain that's now turned to permanent damage and deformed joints and loss of bone and ability to walk normal or do just about anything and had a disability for 7yrs. They took it away out of nowhere. That was in 07!!! I'm still trying to get it back!!! I have 3 conditions or diseases or syndromes more than I had when I was approved the first time and they basically told me to stop applying!! They force people to the breaking point! I'm FED UP!! In rural Missouri well not that rural about 30 miles north of Kcmo... I wish I lived my Mexico, I would go across and buy what I want to take and how many I know works and take them like prescribed and have somewhat of a quality of life!

Re: Manuel (# 4) Expand Referenced Message

Here it is June 2020, 6 years after this guy's comment and this complete and utter placebo junk is STILL on the market, still flooding the market and hundreds if not thousands have complained to the FDA and Mallinckrodt, why is this junk still being sold?? I think we all need to absolutely REFUSE this crap if they give it to you at the pharmacy. Mallinckrodt is a Swedish company and they sub-contract the hydrocodone out to INDIA, does this tell you anything?? No one oversees quality issues in India! Do you really think the FDA is inspecting this medication from INDIA? NO they are NOT. They are getting away with selling blank placebos with NO active ingredient in them. I have taken 2 and 3 at a time and been in tears in pain and it does NOTHING. Something is definitely going on with this medication. I believe the 5 mgs. probably contain .5 mg and the 10 mg. contain 1 (YES ONE) mg. I see someone replied to someone complaining about Aurobindo, an actual company rep. that cares about people complaining, too bad Mallinckrodt doesn't care, too bad our government doesn't care. I know another person who was in severe dental pain, abscessed tooth, worst pain imaginable if you've ever had one, and they were given this Mallinckrodt too and they cried all through the night, absolutely worthless. This is INHUMANE, is anyone reading the hundreds of complaints? I talked to a pharmacist at a different pharmacy last month after I'd gotten the placebo Mckt. again and he told me that he's been a pharmacist for 21 years and KNOWS all about that junk and will go out of his way to try NOT to have that crap in stock. I go back to my doctor next week and WILL change to this pharmacy because he is well aware about this problem and he CARES, that actually means something to you crooks out there who are allowing this and I also have a feeling someone might be exchanging blank black market pills for the legit pills in the distribution process, it can be easily done in transport. I pray they get this crap off the market.

@Manuel--I believe you may have a valid point when you state that many pharmacists will tell you that they do not have a certain medication available. It just could be a security issue. They actually have the medication but they say they do not because of a fear of being robbed. Some hours after you leave they call and say they now can fill your prescription. I never have thought like that until you (I believe it was you) brought it up.
