Macular Degeneration As Side Effect Of Prexium Plus

I have fundus photographs done annually as I have a retinal naevus. One year after starting Prexium Plus for Hypertension I have developed macular drusen typical of Age Related Macular Degeneration with visual loss.
Has this been reported.

Hello, Janine! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem you've experienced.

This medication is listed as containing the active ingredient Perindopril and no, that is not a side effect reported by the FDA. It can cause some visual disturbances, such as blurred vision, but that's it for ocular. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, increased urination and hypotension.
