does taking antibiotics while taking methadone lessen the effects of methadone?

Yes doxycycline will lower the levels in your system and can put you into detox

I didn't find any problems, or interactions listed between these medications, but it is always best to double check to be sure.

The FDA does warn that Methadone carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.

What other medications are you taking?

im a chronic pain sufferer stuck in a hospital bed and can barely pivit to the porta pot with 6 or 7 different deseases im on 16 different prescriptions plus infusions monthly my pain management doctor has me on methadone 10 mg 80 mg daily ive been on keflex 2500 mg a day for a ecoli infection that got really bad starting tommorrow i will start a course of macrobid for 7 days 100 mg 3 times a day starting the third day of antibotics my methadone started feeling as if it wasnt working as well at first i thougt it was cause i was so sick now at the 7th day of antibotics i feel like im not taking my pain meds at all will these antibotics make my pain med not work well at all?
