Have 46 BPM at rest; now cut 25mg Metoprolo tablet in half to lower dose as prescribed by cardio doc. had ascending aortic aneurysm repair, and aortic valve replaced (bovine) in 2003. What is going on here? I do exercise quite regularly, but 46 kinds of has me concerned, even though I am still able to exercise. Any answers, thanks.

Well, there is really no way for anyone to say what's going on from just the limited information in your post.

There are several issues that could cause this and only your doctor is going to be able to help you get to the root of the problem.

The Metoprolol might be working too well and making your heart beat to slowly. I've had that happen with several medications myself.

How long have you been on the lowered dosage? Has there been any improvement?
