Losartan Does Not Lower My Blood Pressure

Is it possible to have an adverse affect being on losartan? My husband has been on 100mg for 6 weeks and it seems as though his bp increases an hour or two after taking it?

How was your pulse rate on 25 twice daily metoprolol.
Losartan first dose of 25 mg at bedtime. Woke up feeling bad checked no it was 164/96 ..never been that high.also take 25 mg of metoprolol 2 times day and water pill. Why did it raise my no so high ???scared me. What to do???
I was recently put on a 100mg dosage of losartan but my blood pressure is still elevated. Should I take it in the evening? How long does it take for losartan to work in the morning?
I noticed mine goes up after I take my Losartan AND the propranolol...The only thing that brings mine down is VALIUM.
I was on losartan potassium for years. But I also took metoprolol tartrate for irregular heartbeat. Just to give a little background, during the majority of the time I was on losartan, my regular doctor made a mistake and put me on motoprolol succinate, rather than tartrate (which doesn't work as well for irregular heartbeat but is a longer acting med). The odd thing is that my BP never got in the good range with those two medicines combined. I'd run in the 145ish / 90's, sometimes very high 90s. For the last year or so I'd been having these bouts of muscle aches and then fatigue. During the last one a few weeks ago I read the side effects on losartan again and decided to stop taking it to see what would happen. The muscle problems got better quickly and oddly enough, my blood pressure went down.
Now, I'm just taking 25mg of Metoprolol Tartrate twice a day, which helps my PVCs (irregular heartbeat) and has been keeping my BP in the excellent range. (120s/70s and sometimes lower). Perhaps it was the combination of meds that didn't work for me. Perhaps it was because I was getting side effects, presumably from the losartan, but I was on that medicine for years without good results. Just my personal experience.
My blood pressure is normal after relaxing all day / no stress, but doubles up on my losartan.
Hello, Natalie! How is your husband doing?
How much does it increase and what time of day does he take it?
It is normal for blood pressure to change throughout the day, when we engage in physical activity, after we eat and etc. It never remains at one steady level all throughout the day.
The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and dry mouth.
