Losartan 50mg Pill Cut In Half

Is it safe to cut my losartan 50 mg in half when the pill is not scored? Pharmacy said I will not be getting even distribution with each half but I want to know your experiences...

There shouldn't be a problem, part of pill manufacturing is making sure the medication is evenly suspended throughout, my doctor approves of my doing so and it's prescribed for me directly from cardiology for heart function.

However, there are 50mg tablets that you can get that are scored and they should provide you with them, if your doctor writes your prescription as you needing to cut the tablets. There will always be a slight variance between doses, because no cut is absolutely precise, but it is usually not significant. I actually have one here, now, that is manufactured by Aurobindo Pharma, it is an oval green, scored 50mg Losartan tablet. I'm prescribed 30 a month, I take half a tablet in the morning and half at night.

The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension.

What dosage has your doctor instructed you to take?

Unfortunately my pharmacy does not have 50 mg losartan which is scored. They tell me not safe to cut since one half could be 35 mg and other 15 mg. they claim ingredients not evenly distributed in pill
