Looking For New Doctor In Northeast Georgia

I was recently released by pain clinic and need to find another doctor soon. Are there any doctors in Northeast Ga that will see me and prescribe pain meds for chronic pain or do I have to go to pain clinic?? Any suggestions for a doctor that will prescribe meds that actually work without constant drama?

Hello, Tonya! How are you?

Due to the new directives that were set forth by the DEA last year, most private practice doctors will no longer prescribe pain medications, except in special circumstances, such as for someone that is suffering intractable pain from a possibly fatal illness, such as stage 4 cancer. Thus, you'll have to stick with a pain management specialist.

Why did they release you? That might have an effect on being able to get another to accept you as a patient.

Do you have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, having them refer you to someone might be the quickest and easiest way to find the help you need.

Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?

I have been going to a doctor in Macon Ga, for two years. when you go into the bathroom to give them a urian teat, you leave the cup on the table in there. well I do, along with 5 or 6 more people. there are cups with urian already in there. the problem is, she called me to the back and told me I had meth in me. I said hell no I didn't. I asked if I could give some more urian. she told me no. I said run it throw the lab again, and was fussing about how the bathroom was set up. well she told me if she ran it again and if I failed that they would release me. well it came back, but this time there was fentinal in it. that's a type of morphine the nurse said. well they released me. that was the 14th of last month. I don't know what to do. I have a tumor on my spine and my back was crushed by a forklift 02/06/07. I take hydromorphone 8mg three times a day. Does anyone know a doctor who will write me my meds?
