Looking For A Doctor In Central Jersey To Perscribe
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I was on qsymia for 6 weeks and lost 6 lbs in that time. My doctor didn't have it researched and decided to quit my program on it because he didn't want me on a life long perscription. this was crazy to me b/c it was not only working but would have been less than have the straight doses of 37.5mg of phentermine i had been on for 6 month intervals in the past.

This is an FDA approved weight loss medication. Designed specifically for long-term use in obese patients (27-30bmi), they even have multiple titration dosages for adjusting and maintaining weight loss. If your doctor hasn't heard/researched of it, then you need to go to a doctor who prescribes for weight loss(obesity specialist, etc.) plenty of them out there. If you need assistance in locating one. American Society of Bariatric Physicians (asbp.org). Should be helpful.

Hello,

I'm not from that area so unfortunately I don't have any doctors I can refer you to. This may seem obvious, but I would just look in the yellow pages or yelp.com to find weight loss doctors in your area. I do believe that weight loss pills can be addicting for some people, so maybe that is why your doctor didn't want to keep prescribing the pill.

Personally, I believe that weight loss pills/fat burners may give you a boost at first which is great, but it can also backfire later on. In reality, to lose weight and keep it off throughout your entire life, you really have to focus on making lifestyle changes and creating an exercise routine that you can keep up with. It all depends on how strong your deep inner desire is to lose the weight. By taking the medications/supplements that are marketed as fat burners, or going on a special diet for a few months, you are essentially telling yourself that you can't lose weight on your own free will and determination. Your body's ability to heal itself is a lot stronger than you may have been permitted to believe!

I hope this helps in some way!
