Can a pain-management physician keep & dispense prescriptions of pain medications for his senior patients suffering from severe pain?..IV been going to my physician for the past 9 yrs; also using the pharmacy located in the lobby of my Dr's professional bldg.... This pharmacy informed me that they will no longer fill my oxycodone prescription because there are to many patients for what they get in stock...So this pharmacy said the prescriptions they can fill will be going to the patients that have been their customers alot longer than I have!...What the heck? I cannot believe these pharmacies can play God while patients are in gut wretching pain!... Isn't there some place that a senior can file a complaint? ..or asked for a review

Unfortunately, no! The pharmacy isn't obligated to fill any of your prescriptions. I'm sorry, I know this is very inconvenient and it has created problems for people all over the U.S.

There are limits on how much of any controlled substance a pharmacy can order and keep in stock each month and once they are out, they are out. They cannot order more until the next month. This has caused many to have to restrict their customer base to their oldest regular customers, or to customers that only live within a certain radius of their store.

Your only recourse is to take your business elsewhere. I wish I had better news for you, but I don't. I really am very sorry, but there's nothing that can be done about it.
