Lisinopril Side Effects When Stop Taking

Been taking 10-12 mg.Lisinopril/Hydro for 2 yrs. My mom just passed away with ARDS and I believe it was caused by her taking Lisinopril. It just scared me so much, that I told my doctor I didn't want to take it anymore. I am also on 25 mg. Metoprolol. My doctor told me to just stop it and visit him in two weeks. So far I feel okay but still have a dry cough now and then and feel like I am fighting a head cold. Does this sound par for the course on this med.?

Yes, those can be normal side effects and withdrawal effects of Lisinopril, but things should improve in a few weeks as your body adjusts, according to FDA reports.

However, it is best to keep an eye on your blood pressure and heart rate, plus keep all follow up doctor's appointments, just in case.
