Lisinopril Lupin India

Updated

My pharmacy has filled my lisinopril prescription with drug from Wockhardt the first month, Acta (Actavis?) the second month, and now Lupin! Lupin is located in Mumbai. Is their GMP as strict as in the US? Do I really want to continue taking lisinopril made in India? What is all this switching generics doing to my body? should I get a new pharmacy where they fill it consistently with drug from the same company?

You are in no danger from them regularly switching manufacturers, no harm will come of it.

Learn more Lisinopril details here.

And the one manufactured by Lupin is made to the same strict standards as all others that are available in the U.S. Otherwise, they wouldn't be available here from your pharmacy.

And no pharmacy will always fill your prescription with generics from the same company. The very nature of generics is that it lets a pharmacy stock whichever one happens to be cheapest, to create competition and help keep prices down. Thus, a pharmacy may switch at any given time.

Are there any other questions or concerns?

Re: Verwon (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

my experince with Lisinopril made by Lupin in India is that is ineffective.
I used to take 20 mg at bedtime
With Lupin I needed 1 1/2 pills (30mg)
This last refill seems not to lower my BP to a good range even with 2 pills. It makes me afraid and angry. What if patients with heart problem or Epilepsy
end up with sub standard medication?
I am going to ask my pharmacy for some names of reputable generic drug manufacturers. And I am going to let my doctor know. And ask your pharmacist name of company that makes your generics and what country are they located in. I would be wary of India and china

Lupin was on the pill on one side and 20 on the other. Please don't assure people that all generics are safe and equal to brand names. some are and others are not.
