I have lost 50 lbs and now have low BP 90-60 can I just stop taking the Lisinopril-HCTZ

Hello, Jerry! How are you? I'm glad you're doing so well!

No, please don't just stop it, without your doctor's approval. Doing so creates the risk of rebound high blood pressure and elevated heart rate. You should only stop such a medication, if your doctor approves and in many cases, with a slow taper.

The FDA lists the typical side effects for this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, hypotension and dehydration.

I've been taking Watson 860, pink-round, lisinopril hctz 10/12.5 for the past 10 years. Is there a lesser dosage of this same pill?

Hi CC - I checked the drug page on this site for Hydrochlorothiazide, HCTZ + Lisinopril and scrolled down to the section "Possible Dosages for this and Related Drugs". From what I a seeing, the 10/12.5 dosage which you are taking appears to be the lowest for this medication. I hope this helps and wish you the best!
