Liquid Morphine Absorb Through Skin

Resident I'm taking care of spit out her liquid morphine on my arm.

It is very doubtful that you would absorb enough of it for it to have any effect. If you had any broken skin on that area of your arm, there was likely greater danger from bacteria in her saliva, than anything else.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Some liquid morphine spilled on my hand and now I am coming up for opiates. I am freaking out. I take no meds that contain opiates. I only take prednisone.

I work in an assisted living facility where we administer liquid sublingual morphine. I was wondering if it can be absorbed through the skin and make you come up dirty for opiates?
