Liquid Hydrocodone Pediatric Doses

My 40 lb grandson was prescribed 1 teaspoon of 7.5/325/15 mL hydro/lortab. Is this a safe dose for his size?

It is best to give him the dosage prescribed by his doctor.

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.

Is he on any other medications?
