Lidocaine Positive For Cocaine

I recently had a hair and urine test taken. My hair sample tested positive for cocaine but my urine sample was negative. So I asked the people from the drug testing lab if me having a tooth pulled could be there reason why. He said no, even though the dentist injected me with lidocaine, articaine, and marcaine ...on top of the prescription drugs; which were hydrocodone, ibuprofen, and penicillin... I just want to know can any of this cause a false drug test reading for (cocaine). I don't do any drugs nor do I smoke. I need to no what can I do to keep my record from being destroyed...

There has to be a connection between lidocaine & cocaine because there are several people that this has happened to. I am not a drug user and rarely even drink alcohol but tested positive for cocaine in a hair drug test from my employer. So, to prove them wrong, I went to a different lab and paid for a hair drug test myself and it came up positive again. 3 months prior to the drug test I had been injected with lidocaine several times for a biopsy. I had also had a tooth pulled and developed 'dry socket' and they gave me petroleum based Xylocaine to keep putting in the dry socket until it began to heal. However, I was told by 3 different doctors that Lidocaine will not show up as cocaine because they are not related in any way. There has to be something that can be done about this. Too many [none drug user's] are losing jobs and reputations because of this. If you find out any thing that can help, please post it here. And I will do the same. Thank you!

It was the topical jelly..... I believe they are both ester based anesthetics. Cocaine is for sure, as is Novocain (Procaine) but lidocaine is not. I do believe they are all distantly related. You sure you didn't do a little bump before work or something? Just kidding..... I failed a drug screen for THC but was smoking my brains out. I didn't even consider, and still do not, Marijuana to be a drug.
