Levothyroxine And Your Period

I have had a partial thyroidectomy. Was started on levothyroxine 50 mcg. Now up to 150mcg. I had a mirena put in and periods stopped before my thyroid issues started and did not have a period. Swapped to brand synthroid and they started back after about 3 or 4 months. A year later I swapped back to levothyroxine and they stopped again. My tsh was elevated and my doctor recommended I go to brand necessary synthroid and 4 months later my periods have started back.

That can be a normal side effect of the medication changes, and your original thyroid issue, according to FDA reports.

Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes, mood swings, and hair loss.

Are you on any other medications?
