Levothyroxine 50 Mcg/weight Gain

Been on Levo 50mcg for 6 months and gained 15lbs which seems to be water. doc 3 days ago increased dosage to 75mcg. I was having heart rhythm problems and now they are worse. Forgot to mention hair loss. I think this drug is terrible and I am going to try to get on Armour.

Hello, Glo! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problems that you're having.

However, you should be aware that Armour Thyroid might cause the same side effects, hair loss, weight gain, nausea, headache and heart rhythm changes or elevation are all possible, as listed by the FDA.

It may work better for you, the only way to find out is to try it and see, I just want you to be aware that you may still experience these symptoms.

Thank you for the info, wondering if you are on this med and if so did you have problems? Also do you stay away from gluten? My internist said to go to endo and have app 05/15/2015 so not much to do but wait it out. He also increased Levo to 75mcg. Have read many other people reporting the same symptoms as I have. I find it strange that so many folks have thyroid problems now.
