Levothyroxine is a medication used to help stabilize the thyroid hormones, so it is actually used in both those with general thyroid disorders, as well as in those that have thyroid cancer.
Thus, just because your doctor prescribed it, that doesn't mean you have cancer.
The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, hair loss and weight changes.
