This is an antibiotic that's used to treat or prevent infections. A root canal is usually required because a tooth has been damaged to the point where the roots have been exposed and became infection, or are at risk of becoming infection, so an antibiotic is normally given.

Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
