Hello, Arunabha! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having.
And yes, you should be able to try an alternative medication, unless your doctor has some specific reason why you can't do so. Did they say anything else about it?
You do need to do something, if your cholesterol is high, but there are several other alternatives available.
