Keto/lido/cycl Cream With A Heating Pad

I recently got keto/lido/cycl cream that was prescribed to me because a year ago I got whiplash from a car accident and it still hasn't gone away. I was wondering whether or not I could use the cream with a heating pad as for I use the pad alot? The cream is exactly 10% ketoprofen 6G, 4% lidocaine 2.4G, and 1% cyclobenzaprine 0.6G. I would very much appreciate anyone who could answer me. Thank you!

Hi Jessica, thank you for bearing with me as I did not have a chance to reply back to your other thread. Because there is Lidocaine in the cream I would avoid using a heating pad unless you can get an okay from your doc or the compounding pharmacist. I read on a page from drugs.com about the Lidoderm patch (which is basically another topical form of Lidocaine, but administered through a patch and not cream) it says not to place a heating pad or electric blanket over the patch since it could increase the risk of side effects. But other than that I could not find any other warnings about the other ingredients in your cream.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the Lidoderm patch contains a dose of straight Lidocaine, whereas you have a compounded cream with Lidocaine as one of the ingredients. So maybe it would not be as big of a deal. I'm just trying to take the side of caution here. So if you feel that a heating pad truly helps with things then I would check with the compounding pharmacist if possible since they are familiar with the cream.
