Just Started Ms Contin Could Not Take The Oxy Ops

I have been a pain pt for a long time non surgical and been through it all.I had to go off the new oxys even if they still worked pain wise they made me deathly ill,miagraines,severe stomache problems vomitting ect. I had no idea what direction to go in because i have been tried on kadien fen patch all those different things with no luck. for pain mngmt. My biggest problem is my Dr. likes small amts #'s when he prescribes. After two mths. trying to adapt and winding up in an er at VA when I went back to my DR. he treated me the worst he has ever treated me I have been there for years. Any way even that sick he wanted me to take them anyway, i was shocked. I took the va dr. advise he said go on straight morphine that it was the golden drug and that it hed been used for 100 yrs. or more with success. I told him about the Kaidian ect. and he advised to go morphine all the way. I was under pressure from my DR. to hurry up and decid morphine or methedone, only options .He woulnd up giving me 3 100 ms contin. I had those before yrs. ago but not that strenght and the price was now hundreds cheaperthan then. Just in 2 days I am so much better I am still going to go the straight morphine which is even cheaper but is essentially same dosing patterns ect.strenghts and so on any way I worried but even though I am in pain I wasn't started so low I am suffering or in withdrawl, Does any body know a site that shows tiration of these different opiates time lasted half life ect.?I am just so much better just not being sick and to tell you the truth after 2 months I feel really cold turkey weaned down. I could use a site like that and would also like to hear what any body else has done or switched to. By the way my Doc told me the op's are not just made different but have a pre-curor that releases a chemical componant that if they are tampered with all opoid effects will not work, and I believe him. I think he thought I tampered with them, and that made his anger make sense. I have only saw 2 positives about these new op's working right, recreational users might be using other things and not relize how inefficient these are. All of these abuse methods are not just ruining your pill, in my opinion you all are completely getting a phycological high if my dr. told me the truth.

I am very sorry to read of the problems you had with the Oxycontin, there have been many complaints about it not working as well as causing odd side effects.

There is, however, nothing in them that neutralizes the opiate, if someone tries to tamper with them. Purdue had considered doing this, but tabled the idea. If someone tries to tamper with them, they have a polymer that turns them into a gummy goo to retain the time released properties.

Morphine is a great pain reliever and almost all are now available in a generic form, including the time released formulations.

I used the generic for MS Contin for many years, it turned out I was misdiagnosed, but at that time it was the only thing that helped with my pain.

You may experience some side effects from it, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation.
