Joint Nerve Ablations

I have pain in my dislocated right hip... Has anyone out there had a hip joint nerve ablation? Did it work? I can no longer be prescribed the pain meds I was on due to new laws as of jan, 2016. Please help.

The laws actually have not changed, other than to limit some of the amounts that can be prescribed, the rest are just recommendations that the DEA has issued, in order to try to gain better control of the opiate supply to help prevent theft and diversion, as well as to limit over prescribing and improper prescribing. The extra scrutiny from the government has caused many doctors to be afraid of prescribing controlled substances, but it is not against the law for them to do so.

What type of doctor have you been consulting? A pain management specialist would likely be able to help you more than a general practitioner.

What medications were you taking?

I went to Mapelton pain clinic for 16yrs and lived a productive life, I have a spinal cord injury so the paralysis is from stomach down (in wheelchair) but have sensation down legs and in hips. I can not have a hip replacement due to no weight baring and big history of MRSA, (mrsa in a joint surgery would be the END). I was on fentanyl patch and Actiq for break through pain, then I was switched the last two yrs to a PA he changed the oral transmucossal to the subsys, (sublingualspray)..Everything was fine until my jan appointment of 2016, my Dr wouldnot do the prior authrizatipn and all of a sudden after 16yrs said I lived to far wy .70miles....that pretty much it.
