Has anybody had POSITIVE results from using this form of contraception? I know it's easy to get irate about the negatives but surely there must be those who have had positive experiences that might like to share here? I'd be interested to know....

Iv had no positive side effects what so ever, iv been on it for 4 months and i havnt stopped bleeding for more then a day, it was very heavy for the first 2 months so i went back to the doctor but they said i had to wait at least 3 months before putting me on the pill to stop the bleeding, its now very light but thinking of going back to stop it. Iv had acne break outs on my stomach!! very weird. and constant mood swings. its either the constant bleeding or jadelle but i cant find it in me to have sex either totally thinking about getting this bad boy removed.

Hi all, I am like you, thank you sooo much. I have Jadelle for nearly 5 months now. I had one period when it was first inserted and haven't had another since. I have not experienced any bad side effects. It has been hard to find another person with good comments about Jadelle. It really does all depend on the person.

Hi all,

Ive been on jadelle for 1 year. Ive had positives from jadelle. when i first got it, i had my period all the time for the first 3 months then it started to come regularly. I havent had any bad side effects apart from getting pimples which i never use to get, I get the odd 2 or 3 but goes away with cleansing and toning. the reason im searching about info on it is because my period has stopped completely for 4 months, im not sure if its a good or bad thing but im not sure where its going if its not coming out. also i dont gain weight, its kept me slim. i cant wait to get it out no doubt, im not a big thing of unatural stuff but better to be safe than sorry. i reccommend if your side effects are bad then its not for you. I agree that it really depends on a person.

In 16 and I've had the implants in for over a year. I'm thinking of getting them taken out because my periods are so irregular it's not even funny. Sometimes I'll go months without having them and other times my period will last the whole month. I know it's supposed to be 'normal' side effects but its just annoying. I never know when I'm gonna have my period so I'm never prepared for it. Also, I get bad breakouts, headaches all the time, bloated a lot etc. does it cost to have them taken out?

Hi! Im also on Jadelle.
Have the same problems.
-Breakouts (not just face)
-I will not say WEIGHT GAIN, just some liquid retention adding something between 2 to 3kg.
-No period.

I knew about the possible side effects. Still, I needed to try. As soon as I can remove it, I believe I will.

I have had the implant for over a year, and wow. The periods have stopped (maybe once every 3-4 months) IM 25 and have the skin of a teenager. Also growing hair on my chin and around my neck line, I have no sex drive, havent gained any weight I dont think.. but i am cranky all the time. I am def going to take it out, i am hoping it wont take long for the side effects to disappear... and im praying the hair will stop growing, its making me so self conscious. I am also noticing a smelly discharge most days... disaster.

I got my Jadelle in March 2011. For the first 8 months of having it in I got no periods at all and had no strange side effects. Then the bleeding started, so for the last 12 months or so I have been bleeding constantly. I went to the doctor and they put me on the pill to 'regulate' my period. they said when I finish the pill pack my periods should stop or become more normal, they didn't. I went again a few months ago and they put me back on the pill again. I dont like anything un-natural in my body so I didn't go the whole 3 months of taking the pill, i took it for almost 2 months as I thought why should I be taking another contraceptive just to cover up the symptoms of my main contraceptive? So it has been 5 days since I stopped the pill and my period has come back with very painful period pain. BUT I'm reluctant to get the Jadelle out as it is so effective when it comes to not getting pregnant. not sure what to do :/

I have had the jadelle implant since june 2012, it was put in the day of my first period, as soon as i the implants were put in i noticed my period went light and pretty much stopped the next day my cycles are pretty light anyway and the last five daya but i was still pretty stoked with how fast it worked, for the next month and a half i felt great, wasnt having any bad side affects
apart from not having a period, no breakouts, no weight gain lost weight im already pretty small so this kind of made me a bit more petite if i can describe it like that, i had no mood swings in fact i felt pretty good. I finally get my period, last 7 days but it was so light the amount of blood i probably lost in those 7 days was a tablespoon. Things were still going well, periods became regular again bleeding went from light to back to a normal period only difference for me was they were now 7 days instead of five. Around the fifth or sixth month of having it in, i noticed a kicking spasm feeling in my uterus, it felt like i was pregnant again would defenantly liken it to feeling a baby kick, i then noticed my skin started breaking out, only started as one and tiny then eventually they started popping up on my cheeks and chin, ive never had a problem with acne before and now its left pimples and blemishes on my chin and cheeks, ive noticed that theres an odour down there too after i finish my periods, in the past month ive had my period 3 times each lasting five days with breaks in between randomly, ive also noticed in the past 3 weeks my left side of my body feels numb sometimes and i have to shake my leg and arm and open and close my hand to get feeling back and sometimes i cant sleep on my left side because it feels too numb, ive also noticed that im feeling down a bit about the way i look sometimes i look in the mirror and just feel yuck which is something ive never worried about before but in saying that i know its just a hormonal thing i guess. Ive always had a decent size chest 10D cup but now my boobs have dropped to a small C which i think was due to the weight lost, really guttering as ive always had big boobs and i cant get use to having a smaller chest i feel like part of me is missing. I had a really good start with jadelle but as the
months have gone on ive noticed that the side affects
have kicked in and they are just getting worst and worst, i am going to get it taken out, after seeing this forum and the problems that i and other woman have experienced i will be ringing family planning today. I loved the fact that i didnt have to remember pills or worry about getting pregnant again while on the jadelle but the side affects are starting to get me down, to me it sounds like this contraception is good for a minority of woman who are not affected by the side affects at all or only slightyly. I started researching forums of other womans experiences after the side affects started and
to me it seems the census is that it isnt a very good contraception for alot of woman. In saying that i did know of course about the possible side affects with the jadelle, family planning was very informative and gave me pamphlets to read also. Jadelle is not suitable for my body so i am going to ask about the Depo shot, would love to hear from anyone who has had the Depo and their experiences on it, thank you for your time ladies :)

Me and a friend have the same symptoms;
-irregular periods
-smelling discharge
-fluttering like a baby's kicking, honestly felt like I was going mad until I read other people had it too
-weight gain
-NO SEX DRIVE, at all! - have many others had this??
-moody

I was going to keep it in and put up with it bit after reading that most if not all these symptoms are bacause of the jadelle, it's definitely coming out
