Itching On Sulfamethoxazole

I just took my first dose and now I can't sleep and my body is itchy, but I do not have a rash.. Can the medicine be causing this?

Yes, it could be causing it, and it is best to consult your doctor to be sure that you are not experiencing an allergic reaction. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash.

Are you on any other medications? Has there been any change?
