Hello, Malasalle! How are you?
It isn't that either is better than the other. Both are approved medications that have been proven to be effective. It's really a matter of trying one and seeing which works better for you.
The FDA lists the possible side effects as being very similar between the two and you may experience nausea, dizziness, mood swings, headache and weight changes.
For instance, the first one my fiancé tried caused a bad change in personality, so they had to immediately switch him to a different one and it's worked great, with little side effects and no seizures for months. It can vary from person to person, so there's no way anyone can say which would be best for you.
Which one has your doctor recommended?
